As Kitchen Manager, you’ll learn how to prepare great food, cook meats, and roast breadfruits. You’ll be responsible for making sure our food is consistently delicious. You’ll order the food and train others to become future kitchen managers. Each day, you’ll ensure the quality and safety of Yelluh Meat’s delicious food. You’ll see to it that the kitchen is clean, organized and well stocked, and that the equipment is properly maintained and in good condition. Throughout the process, you’re training and developing Crew members, helping them learn how to become future Kitchen Managers. WHAT YOU'LL DO
In addition to following Yelluh Meat's policies and procedures, principle responsibilities include, but are no limited to, the following:
Ensuring food quality by cooking and prepping food to order, and following kitchen procedures
Monitoring food waste and inventory levels, and resolving food quality issues
Developing a strong team dynamic between back of house team and front of house team
Training and developing team members to be future Kitchen Managers
Communicating with team members effectively in order to ensure great customer service and throughput
Ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
Monitoring kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair; making sure malfunctioning equipment is repaired as quickly as possible
Ensuring that the kitchen itself and all team members meet the necessary guidelines to ensure there are no injuries or accidents
Filling out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Inventory Rotation (FIFO)
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL
Have proven experience in varied kitchen positions including food preparation, line cook, fry cook and expediter.
Have at least 1 year experience in a similar capacity.
Be able to manage your own time and the time of others through efficient time management techniques.
Have good monitoring/assessment skills to evaluate performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
Have basic computer skills including email, word processing, spreadsheet creation and the use of online applications / website browsers.
Be efficient and accurate with units of measurement, figures, conversions and calculations.
Be able to speak, write and understand clearly managers, kitchen and dining room personnel and guests.
Have the manual ability to manipulate the POS system and handle/serve food.
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (in excess of 8 hours)
Be able to reach, bend, stoop and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
Have a valid food handler’s certificate
